Historically disinvested neighborhoods, due to both lack of initial investment and lack of tree maintenance, tend to have less tree canopy than more affluent neighborhoods, meaning residents receive fewer health and environmental benefits from trees.

As a legacy organization we found it critical for our continued growth to re-evaluate our values. We needed to go through the hard work to provide a more equitable work environment for our team and in turn, a better organization for our community partners.
