2026 Call for Nominations: Join NDC’s Board of Directors

Want to make a difference in your community?

Our annual call for new board nominations is open through January 15, 2026. NDC is looking for dedicated, mission-oriented leaders who live or work in Baltimore City or Prince George’s County to serve on the Board of Directors.


We’re looking for the following skills and backgrounds

    • Legal

    • Accounting

    • Environmental Planning

    • Finance/Banking

    • Corporate Partnerships

    • Philanthropic Partnerships

    • Media/Public Relations

    • Branding/Marketing

Period of Service

The term for a Director on the Board is three years, and can be renewed for a second three-year term. A slate of candidates for election to the Board will be presented to the full Board in spring 2026, with board service starting in July 2026.


General Responsibilities

    • Understand NDC’s mission, history, constituencies, projects, and core values.

    • Attend and participate in Board meetings (6 per year), committees and activities.

    • Be an advocate for NDC, its mission, programs and accomplishments.

    • Help identify potential opportunities for new projects, partnerships, supporters and volunteers.

    • Support NDC financially by participating in fundraising including: soliciting volunteers, sponsors, donors, and by making a personal contribution.

Serving on the Neighborhood Design Center board offers more than a seat at the table — it’s an opportunity to shape the future of communities across Maryland.

Board members gain firsthand experience supporting equitable, community-led revitalization efforts at a pivotal moment, as public investment and new models for engagement create real momentum for change.

You will:

    • collaborate with a diverse, accomplished group of professionals

    • lend your expertise to strategic planning and fiscal stewardship

    • expand your network

    • help elevate a proven model for impact that puts people first.

Most importantly, you’ll see how your leadership translates directly into safer, healthier, more vibrant neighborhoods making your time, perspective, and voice genuinely matter.

    • Board Interviews: February-March 2026

    • Candidate Notification: April 2026
